Default which axle lock-outs?

right, so finally doing a proper build, not just throwing money at the stock ax10 chassis. ordering ordering ordering, too many "must haves' not enough funds, I'm sure I'm the only one ever to experience that.....
Question. rear axle lockout for the ax10 axles. any suggestions? my thinking is the adaptors would be neither here nor there, but the straight axle is another thing altogether, soooo, when whichever brand I get goes by the wayside, is there something to steer clear of or something i must have? would much rather get the right gear start off with....I'm keen to support a vendor thru here if a product available....

I personally like the STRC straight axle adapters, the axle shafts are twice as thick as the Axial kit and you get axles and adapters together for a lower price than any other kit.

X2! The STRC rear lockouts are a great deal you get aluminum lockouts and a much beefier shaft! The only thing is with the STRC's you will have maybe 1-1.5mm of play between your mounting hexes where the drive pins are. I think the axle shafts were cut just a tad too long. Not a huge deal that would destroy performance though.

With the Axial lockouts they have no play whatsoever. You just have to buy the longer axles and the lockouts (plastic or aluminum).

The plastic rear straight axle adapters have worked great for me in the past. I haven't haven any issues with them. And yes that have been abused at times.

Plastic is lighter, and it'll flex a bit, absorbing some of the shock of impacts.

X2. I've still got my stock plastic lockouts that I've had for over a year. Never had an issue.
