| Painting Tips??
Hey guys, i have freshly repainted my 1:18 to match my 1:6 my question is; is there any good way to keep the paint ON the jeeps? I know they are going to get beat up, but every time this thing rolls over it gets so many scratches. I sanded the plastic, and i used the krylon fusion paint for plastic. i just dont feel like repainting it all the time. should i do a matte clear coat? In past experience the clearcoat looks really bad when it gets scrapes. lemmie know what you guys have done, or offer any advice. i ordered some diamond plate for the corners, so that should help with them thanks! |

put a coat of silver on first that way when it gets scratched it'll look like bare metal, but it'll still be paint. Trim paint for automotive use dye's the plastic, so nothing to scratch off. Small parts could be Rite dyed. |

Carefully remove the body from the Nylint. Walk to trash can. Remove the lid. Drop Nylint body inside. Replace lid. Buy Lexan body. Paint to your hearts desire. Mount. Drive. Problem solved! |

Hey all. My buddy and I recently painted a motorcycle. Half of it was plastic...fenders, side covers, etc. We got this stuff called bulldog adhesion promoter. It ends up looking like primer...and it will make pretty much anything stick to plaster...or anything else for that matter. I used it to change the color of my interior plastics in my car. I went from tan to black...and unless you really gouge it, it doesnt easily come off. Surface prep is the toughest part of painting plastic. If you have a body supply shop near you, go in and chat with the guys behind the counter. They can give lots of good info on the steps and processes to paint plastic. Anyway...here is the website for bulldog... Price isnt too bad on the site...and Im not sure where you can get it locally. I got it at my local body supply shop. I plan to use this stuff when/if I paint my 1:6. http://www.levineautoparts.com/buladprom.html Justin |

Nice looking paint jobs, but....... are these Jeeps crawlers or show trucks? If they're show trucks clearcoat them, if they're crawlers... hell most people wear their rockrash with pride on their 1:1 and scale junk. Just my .02 worth. |

I sanded mine, and put on multiple coats of rusto paint. For some reason it's staying on there.
