Default Need Your Input: XR10 or LCC

Ok Guys - need your help on this one. I've been crawling for about 3.5 months now and am having a blast. Through Kijiji I have been organizing meets every second or 3rd weekend and all of a sudden from like 4-5 people we are getting between 25-30 to show up. No competitions - just for fun. Some are starting to mention that they would like to see a comp organized which is fine. The problem I am having is that I purchased a Losi Nightcrawler and really like it - did some mods and it is somewhat capable but some of the other guys have Losi Comp Crawlers, A10's, a few Gmade's and 1 XR10 that I know of (not completed yet). If we start doing comps the LNC will not be able to hang with dig turns etc. I am considering get a DIG for the LNC but the Comp Crawler kit isn't too bad money wise but I will have to get decent electronics etc etc so would it be better to just get an XR10 and build it over time as I know it is a bit more expensive when complete then the LCC. The LHS carries both so I will have the support. Any input would be much appreciated.

After running both the LCC and the XR10, I would recommend the XR10.

From a pure performance stand point a MOA will out drive a shafty, it has lower center of gravity and usually more belly clearance. But I would say keep you LNC get the dig and get a MOA when the money is around I've got a LCC and love it. I can hold my own against MOAs but you will definitely need dig if your running against comp rigs.

Default lcc!

With your MOA kit, I'll take the CC any day!

The performance margin is MUCH thinner than you think.

If you take a dialed-in LCC, and a dialed-in XR10, and run 100 crawling lines, I'm willing to bet that they will perform almost identical for 95+ of those 100 lines.

That being said, I vote Axial.

I have a pretty dialed LCC that's mostly aftermarket and I would trade for a box stock xr10.. Exploded bearings and all.

I'm with the rest.....XR10 all the way. It really doesn't cost anymore to build one than any other comp worthy crawler. Get the bearings handled and you're good to go.

Lol - Don't laugh - I did do some research on them lololol

Really appriciate the help guys. It looks like I am swaying to go with the
XR10. I was thinking of adding a Spektrum DX3E and the Novak M2 Dig 3S ESC with the brushed crawler motor combo. Have to get a decent servo as well. Probably wouldn't be too expensive going that way. Think that would get me by?

You should check if the DX3E has more than one 3 position switch and if they are assignable, so you can take advantage of both the proportional and full dig options the Novak M2 offers.

Its Greg. I was looking to convert my AX10 to a Scaler and then I would be in the market for a Crawler. Are you selling your Night crawler ? If so, email me. I like your Losi better than my Axial, now if your talking XR10, that would be my choice if Funds would allow.

I am in the process of switching from my lcc to an xr10. MOA seems like it would be much more fun to me.
