| Junfac DS setscrews
OK guys, save me some headaches . Does anyone know what size the setscrews are for the Junfac hardened steel driveshafts? I'm short a couple. They're the ones made for Axial rigs. Thanks in advance! Last edited by TrailDawg362; 11-18-2010 at 04:12 PM. |

I should have been more specific, I'm looking for the screws for the ends that go to the axle inputs.

We know. It is the longer of the two in the picture, which would be 3 x 3.5~mm

The driveshafts are nice but the set screws suck. I run them in my SCX10 based Hilux and 2.2 Jeep tuber both with Axial tranny's with Robinson Raceing hardened gears and the set screws will not bite into the outputs. I've cranked them down with loc-tite and the shafts still pop off without even a mark left on the outputs. I had to use a cutoff wheel in my Dremel to groove the outputs just so the setscrews had something to bite into. |

I've had similar issues over the past year with my Junfac stainless shafts. The final solution seems to be to drill and tap for 4mm setscrews, which are a pain to find in middle of nowhere VT. The larger setscrews take a larger driver=more torque allowed and more area to bite on the output shaft. No matter how much loc tite, how much setup time I let it cure for, or how tight I get them, they will still loosen up in about two hours and fall of of the trans output. I had a pin fall out of mine once, so now the joints are covered in two layers of heavy duty shrinkwrap. I snapped a pin in half and didn't notice for a couple of packs because the shrinkwrap held both pieces in place and it continued to function. |

Thats disappointing news, I ordered these by accident. That damned "buy me now" button is pure evil . Hopefully I won't have too many problems. I've been running the Stampede shafts for two years, no issues, just wanted to upgrade. I was looking at the MIP's but hit the wrong selection, oh well... Thanks guys! |
