Default Axial RTC shock problems

My Axial AX10 RTC has been inoperable for about a year and I'm thinking about selling it for parts if I cant get this latest problem fixed:
For some reason, where all the other versions of this truck and every other crawler I've seen have shocks that are attached by those little ball joint nuts the RTC's shocks are attached by flexible rubber o-rings. the problem is now that the shocks have been removed I cant get them back on because when I tighten the nut down on the o-rings the rubber compresses and they cant move far enough sideways to attach the other end to the axle. also the hole the o-rings fit into on the shock is too large to fit a ball joint nut and I cant find any other shocks that are the same length as the RTC's, not even the ones axial makes are the same length. So should I get a different crawler or are their some affordable pre-assembled shocks out their that will fit the RTC?

I've never seen the shocks you refer to in person, but it sounds like you are missing a plastic compression sleeve inside the rubber bushing.

you could try using a short piece of fuel line to make a ball joint. outside dia close to shock body, inside dia screw size. might be an easy fix to try.

l'm happy with the losi comp shocks i put on but ended up making custom ball joints to fit them to the axle housing.

Dude. Shocks are a CHEAP fix and or upgrade. LOSI crawler shocks, AXIAL comp shocks, TRAXXAS big bores, even the DURITRAX evader shocks I run, tho different lengths are all proven. If you just want to get it going PM me Ill hook you up with some AXIAL ARTR shocks on the cheap.

sorry I'm not much good with computers or cameras.
as for the shock cap suggestion I can't seem to find any but that sounds like a good Idea.
will the caps for the longer shocks that axial used for ARTR and RTR fit on the RTC's shocks?
