I've got access to a few rocky beaches near the house that are great for crawling. I recently (this past weekend) bought a 2.2 crawler and have been having fun down at the beach. However, instead of mindlessly crawling over these rocks and boulders, are there technical guidelines available so that I can read and learn and ultimately have more fun. Thanks! |

Thanks. What about rules for competition? What get points and what get points taken away?

You can set up a course with tennis ball halves as gate markers no less than 16" apart. Google USRCCA Rules and you will be able to read all of the rules and regulations for r/c rock crawling. Hope that helps. |

the fun is trying to crawl up everything. learn how to drive first rules later. the next best thing is convincing your friend to buy a crawler and go out with ya. i would like to see some pics of this nice rocky beach

Here are the rules: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/wrcca-rules/ The best thing to do is read up and know the basic rules. Next, get some golf balls, cut them in half or quarters and set up some gates and practice getting through the gates cleanly. Right now we are smack dab in the middle of comp season, find a comp near you and run... Where are you at in So Cal? |

Thanks for the tips. I'm in Palos Verdes Estates or about 30 miles south west of downtown Los Angeles. I took pictures but need to resize them before posting. Last edited by Kwarler; 11-23-2010 at 02:27 PM. |

| There are two crawling clubs in your area, SoCal Crawlers and OCRCRC. If you don't mind a little bit of a drive, there is also the fine people down here in San Diego, SDRCRC. Look on the regional and comp forums for get togethers and comps. The regional forum would be the best place to chat about what crawl spots are in your area.
