| Ok I need help pls....
Well I am trying to make my 1st crawler... this is what I have so far. Not happy with the way it is going, it looks cockeyed. I tried to get good pics so ppl could see what I am talking about? Any suggestions? I am making my own links as I "thought" it would be cheaper that way. Now I am not so sure?? Chassis is a CKRS. Clod axels. It looks like some of my bends are off from one another. Could this be the problem.. (cockeyed)?? I am always open to suggestions/advise. Thnx in advance. Sabo |

You need a straighter shot to the axle from the chassis. With bends like that, you're guaranteed to snap the end off in no time. Since its your first build, I'd just make them straight until you can get the hang of setting things up. |

are the upper links identical length eye to eye? and when links are bent (like the lowers) they must be the same bend and best achieved with some form of homemade jig and also must be same length eye to eye.

Thnx guys. I was going by the pic off of CKRC web site for the type of chassis. Think I will try to make them straight. Kinda frustrating. Back to drawing board?

Take a measurement from eye to eye on the lower links, then compare it to the opposite site, then do the same for the uppers. This should be a quick check to see what you have going on, my guess is, you will find that the lowers measure different.

I would redo the bent ones and go with straight ones for your first build and get use to how it handles and then you can always do up more bent ones.I have a small bin with a ton of "mistakes",but thats how we all learn, nothing wrong with that.Keep at it and let us know if you need and more help....... |

Thnx guys. I really didnt think it was gonna be as difficult as it has been. I am trying to not get too frustrated with it. I will try again. I was going with the bends to got more ground clearance, and more room to flex. Hope thats right? Once again thnx for all the advise. |

Like they have said, go simple at first, straight links that are the same size. You might find out once you get it together that you don't need the bends.

The bends are nice but there not easy to work with at first.Go with straight links for now and have fun with it. |
