| Racer's Edge Servo Horns
Hey Guys does anyone know the length of these Racer's Edge clamping servo horns. Right now I am runnig the black one that is 3/4" and I need something longer to get more out of my new 300's. I would like 7/8" to 1". They have a blue one and a grey one on their site, but no specs. Thanks |

Hi, this may or may not help. Mine is the Golden Horizons it looks similar in design to the Racers Edge unit. Mine measures 1.4 inches overall. The eye to eye measurements are .750 on the shortest and .895 on the outer hole. Here is the link http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...Blue-24T-Hitec |

The Robotronic long is the arm you need.

IM you got a link to where we can find that robitronics? I see A-main has some robitronics but they only have a short and the other doesn't say long or short... is that a long? Yep, the Robitronic short and Racer's Edge arms are the same length and the mounting holes are the same. If you want something longer, go with the regular Robi arm... |

| NEW Robitronic Servo Horn / Arm That link shows the part #'s and specs, just google the part no. you need as I don't know what servo you have. A-main has the JR, but not the Hitech. Looks like TCS has everything except Hi-tech short, I need a Hi-tech long myself to get a little more throw than my racers edge allows, had one on my old JR and couldn't find em at the time I switched to the 7980. |

I use Integy 1:5 scale horns. They are the thickest, strongest horns out there. Mine was one hole too long, so i cut it down with a dremel. Here's the link: http://www.rcplanet.com/Integy_Servo...C23062GREY.htm Last edited by Gat714; 01-04-2011 at 11:16 AM. |

I'm not sold on the 1/5 Integy horns. I watched Tydl destroy a new one in 3 courses of crawling with no nasty binds. Must be his 7980 |

No problem. For the guys that havn't seen it, here are a couple pics of my new (different color, but same one) Integy horn next to my old Racer's Edge horn. You can see just how much bigger it is! |

| I have put my 1:5 scale through A LOT of abuse and it hasn't even noticed. Did he strip the gear in the horn? I cannot imagine he bent one like mine! They are tanks!

DT what did he do to it? I've heard integy isn't that great at casting AL lol.. I"m torn what to do... still waiting to hear from JP customs if they have robitronics for hitec in stock and tcs is having international shipping issues. A-main has no hitec ones and I need one hitec and one JR.

He broke all the teeth off of the spline My experience with Integy is it is soft pot metal, cast not machined. The Robitronic's horns are proven rock solid as are the Racers Edge, the RE are just a bit short for some applications. Waiting for my HiTec Robi horn to arrive to squeeze some more steering out of my VP10. I'm glad yours is working well for you Gat! Much like there are always a few bad apples in a good batch, there are a few good ones in a pile of junk. Your are a lucky one sir! Last edited by DickyT; 01-04-2011 at 01:31 PM. |

Ya the 7950 is a nice servo... was debating last night over getting a 7980 or 7950 for the xr in a couple weeks. When you're already spending 130 whats another 25 lol. Still would love the ete measurement when you can GAT... thanks bud!

He had the 7980 so we went with it when we (I) built his rig. He was only at 6v at the time of horn destruction, not even pushing it... | |
