Definately has some wheel adapter/extensions, but don't know exactly what brand. Try looking at all of the axles at RC4WD. Any more pics? Multiple output locations? Hmmm...would make a cool 6X6.

My biggest concern would be parts availability. Not knowing what brand it would be hard to shop for if the internals went bad or the CVD's broke. How beefy do they look on the inside? All aluminum + beefy internals might equal a good score if you can get parts for them.

Are they Integy? I have never seen an entire Integy axle but the few pieces of one I have seen remind me of these.

The axles are from a Unitek Spider super crawler and from the look of it, they are the EXACT axles I had and sold a couple years ago. I wasn't a big fan of the shaft driven supers and ended up trading it to a buddy for a TV. He then sold them on EBay from what I remember. I can tell they were mine from the purple rod end on the steering link, I broke one and only had those purple ones to replace it. When I sold them the front had a broken axleshaft, there is a very thin part right by the CVD and I can't see them lasting too long. The only information I could find at the time is they were made by a machine shop in Taiwan although there's none on EBay anymore. Their website had other RC stuff but no name brands, just cheap stuff can't find it now although it was all in Taiwanese (sp?) anyway. I had a ton of pictures but they're on my old computer and have probably been deleted by now anyway. The only pictures I did find are in This Thread, does that purple rod end look familiar? The tape measure looks like the ones I use, they might even be my pictures but I doubt it. I'll try to dig up the old pictures I have and post them here. Overall I'd say the axles could be very capable but stock they do need some work, if you're the type to fix/fab up parts yourself then go ahead but don't expect them to be bulletproof without some work. I paid $315 shipped for the complete crawler and knowing what I do now, I'd pay $100 for the axles because I think I could make them work much better now that I understand crawlers and axles much better now. Just my opinion though... Last edited by AdverseCity; 01-10-2011 at 06:38 PM. |
