Default Welding pixs request!

So I asked my dad today if I could get some welding on my rig. He says that if I get it welded on it will make it to heavy. So please can some the nice people on RCC can post some pixs. Thanks!

weld then grind, it wouldnt be any heavier than any other tube chassis.

what would you be welding with? stick, mig, or tig?


i could show you some pics of my welds, but it aint on rc's its on trailers, animial feeders, fire pits, and gates

First of all what kind of material are you talking about? Welding solid rod is easy as pie, tubing gets a little harder due to burn thru. It's all just tacking anyways since it gets too hot if you try and run a bead. I have a hobart 187 mig machine that I used for building a tube chassis not long ago, but I find that my 80 amp flux core machine works better because I can adjust it lower. Any welder with a good amount of expiernce should be able to get it done. And as far as weight goes...who cares that much about weight you are not trying to pass tech at mini KOH or something.
Heres a pic of 1/8" solid rod chassis I made before cleaning the welds down.
