| should i build
I bought a Pti as they went out of buisness. I'm going to either build a New Bright Dodge Ram truggy w/1.9 tsl's, stampede tranny, and motor would be up for debate(I'm thinking brushless). I just don't know if the axles could handle it. No sense in just grenading them , or....just trade off the axles and find something stronger. Any thoughts would be great.

The axles are good if you can get your hands on the steel gears that a guy was making. I can't remember his name off the top of my head. Additionally, stronger dogbones are a good idea. However, now that I think about it, the gears cost about $40-$50 if I remember right and you can buy a set of brand new Axial axles for what? $70? Even cheaper if you buy 'em secondhand.

| Dont bother upgrading...
Use the stock axles and build a trail-rig / mudder...don't bother upgrading the ring and pinion unless you are doing heavy competing..don't go brushless..I ran my Goliath stock w/ 3s lipo and NEVER blew a ring/pinion.. If you need a replacement just order a TC3 set from Associated... |

Yup. Got 'em when they first came out. I figured I should get a set before they were gone. I never even used 'em. Sold 'em off with a set of axles. That knuckle mod worked pretty well. You get much more leverage and a little extra steering angle. The only thing I never bothered with was keeping the knuckles centered vertically in the axle-c. They seemed to work regardless, so I never messed with it.

Thanks for the input guys. Speed is definitely high on the list with this build. I may look at getting those gears on ebay too. Can't wait to start this build I'm stoked |
