Default Stupid newbie battery question.....

Picked up a couple of Scorpions at Wally World earlier today....

Now, I know the manual says to charge the batteries a full 18 hours before using, but I just couldn't wait ;)

It's only been about 3 hours since I plugged them in and I just tried connecting them, but got no movement at all....

Checked the voltage and they were both at 12.xx Volts, but I didn't even get a flinch....

Tried all frequencies, but still nothing (on both crawlers)...

Is this normal?

Leaving them plugged in overnight....

i charged mine for about three hours and had to try it out and it worked fine. this might be a stupid question to ask but did you put a battery in the controllers? other than that i dont know what else it could be.

Yes, I put the battery in the Tx lol

Actually got a little movement from one of the batts after another hour of charging, so I guess they need a full cycle from being on the shelf so long.....

We'll see how they do in the morning....

You might have to get ahold of the company. Best way is by email. Mine was messed up right out of the box. I charged it the full 18 but the next morning it wouldnt work, i then came to find out that my radio was screwed. Find someone with a radio and try it out if it works then let nylint know and the should send you a brand new one for free, that is what they did for me and no problems now.

mine was dead too. charged it for 18 hrs. and still nothing, called the co. and was told to send the just the chassis to them.
Q. can i just install the body of a jeep to scorpion and vice versa? if this is possible,
i'll just buy the jeep and install the body to my scorpion and return the jeep to the store so i can start playing my scorpion. thanks

check the controller... you said you picked up a couple of em right? start swappin stuff around till you find the problem... there is now way 3 controllers and 3 chassis and 3 batteries and 3 chargers and 3 9 volts are bad... something is glitchin on ya.

Well, I woke up this morning and had to rush into work, so I grabbed one battery and it works great!!

The other batt is still charging, so I'll find out if that one works when I get home....

Fun vehicle

Steering could be better and the griding gears scare me a little, but you can't beat it for $49 bucks

Well, the one battery that I had at work lasted a good hour of play time (on and off) before it started to quit....

When I got home, I tried the other battery and it only lasted about 15 minutes (of straight play) before it quit...

Gunna cycle it again tonight and see what happens tomorrow....

Thumbs down

Well, I cycled the one bad batt 4 times and it actually got worse :(

After a good 12 hour charge, it only goes about 2 minutes before tripping out....

On the other hand, the battery from my second Scorp lasts a good 1.5 Hours of playtime

I'll be contacting Funrise on Monday...
