I suppose you could, But having nothing hindering suspension travel is generally bad, you'll get uncontrolled droop. FYI, guys who use revolvers get REALLY bad wheel hop in real trucks. |

it'll only help if you have leaf springs.

I was thinking if the bottom shock mount on the axle would have the revolver. It would only open like a 1/2 inch and stop so it would close back as the axle went up.

okay I guess it isn't the revolvers I'm thinking about. Do they make revolvers for coil-overs or just shocks?

Exactly.Im puting Them on my 1:1 and It hit me to make a small set for my TLT TJ .I know it dose'nt have Leafsprings But...The shock mount could have on just to give it the extra drop.I.m going to make up a set tommorrow. I'll post pics.

yeah, The idea is really good, but they do have some problems on full size vehicles, I know people how have seen them unload at bad times. IE rolling over. I have a Jeep grand wagoneer and I have seen people with the same truck break them in half. Using them for shocks would be an intersting idead and I like it.

I guess it could be done but correct me if I'm wrong, but arent most RC crawlers already getting "unscale" articulation?

If you seperate the spring from the shock it would work. How about a Savage shock with a 4" spring. then it's controlled droop. With the savage shock set to have the same amount of up travel as a 4" shock(roughly an inch) then the rest in down travel. Just an idea

OK.I made a set Last night and It works Great ! Controled, and I gained a 1 1/2 if Doop .as for my Rig it is a scale as posible the Articulation was scale but it needed more ,and I wanted to build something new. So....Hears the Pics. It opens up and shuts just like a real Revolver. |

seems like you would have loading and unloading problems that way.

Good idea. I suppose it works like running no springs, just shocks, but you get some compression along with droop. I'll have to try this on my next TLT buildup. How far away is your shock mount away from the pivot point on the revolvers? |

Man.... back when I first started on my crawler I had this exact same idea of making revolvers and using them on coilovers. I was thinking that I could get the same travel as savage shocks and still keep the ride height of my 4inch shocks. I never got around to building it and trying it out tho. Nice job!!!! I guess great minds think alike Rig looks great! VERY COOL!!!! Keep up the good work man! |

Thanks .Ya you get the travel of Savage shocks With a 4in shock.I Think Running just the Front Works Better . Im Keeping the Rear also But..Im just going to put a bolt in there .then when I want some Crazy Articulation I'll undo the rear.
