| Where to get just universal joints?
Hey guys, i need a little advice on a problem im having. Im building a 2.2 trail/light rock crawling rig with TA02 gearboxes with a stampede trans. Well the out drives are obviously different and well i have to make custom drive shafts to connect the gearboxes to the pede trans. I was wondering where i could just get metal universal joints? Im going to try to make my own custom length drive shafts out of some small diameter rod and then bolt the universal joints to that, since the shaft might be rather short. The gearboxes and trans will be fixed so theres no need to make them adjustable like the tmaxx shafts or anything. I was going to use the traxxas tmaxx shafts i have, but the diameter of the joint itself will be way to big and im afraid to use actually pede shafts just in case i break those. Any advice would be great. I would post pics of what i`m trying to do, but im currently at work so i was just kind of brain storming this idea.

| https://sdp-si.com/eStore/ has a good selection, but most are $30+ each.

They have some very neat stuff. Pretty pricey though. maybe buy some 3 racing shafts for $20 a pair and use the ends. |

Actually Seirrajim, thats not a bad idea. Which shafts would work you think? Maybe the ones on TCS crawlers for the mini Losi rock crawler? The joints themeselves look small enough. Or maybe from like a ax10 perhaps? Last edited by ToTheMAXXcrawler; 09-07-2011 at 07:39 AM. |

Mrc's run smaller sizes. The ax10, cr01 and scx 10 shafts vary in length with a 5mm shaft size. Ax10 is the longest and cr01 front the shortest
