| Mantis and Xr10 question confusion
Hello crawlers. Planning a build this winter but confused. 1. Is the Mantis based on Xr10 or is it a stand alone? I see Mantis xr10 and I'm confused. 2. Any guesses at cost for mid-range mantis? 3. Axial xr10 vs. a Mantis. Your thoughts/experience. 4. The Billets group seems hard to reach. Any experience? Back logs. I truly appreciate your input. I have a serious burn to do one, I've maxed out my AX10 scropion. Thanks again! |

Hotwheels: thanks. your view on a straight xr10 moa vs a billet chassis with xr10 parts. Trying to find a point of view on these two. This would be my first ground up build. Thanks! |

Do some searching in here....there's a lot of info on the Mantis chassis. The Mantis chassis is an aftermarket modification you can make to a basic XR10 kit. Start with the basic kit, build it, crawl with it, get used to it....then make the change .... Seriously, search a lot in here, you can find answers to all you questions |

What's your budget for this build? That is the first most crucial point. The mantis is a nice chassis but if on a limited budget for an XR it is not the first thing I would start with upgrading from stock. The two most crucial points to upgrade on an XR are the motor plates to aftermarket with larger bearings and the gears to RC4WD. I would do those before any chassis upgrades. |

Great advice above. I have not drivin the new Mantis, although I was testing that chassis design/theory before billet works aquired the design. So my experience with the new design is not relevant. Sorry, wish I could be more help.
