| XR10 or Bully ?
So, my 14 yr old son found my old TLT build in the barn. Needless to say, now he's hooked. He wants a XR10 but I can't find a RTR. I seen the RC4WD - MK42 and thought it looked like a better quality than the XR10, plus it's RTR. What are the pro's/con's of the MK42 ? Heck, for $300 I might get one for my daughter too. |

i have never owned the Mk-42 but id say if your just playing around and not for competition then get the bully. its a great axle that is well suited for the kids heavy throtle finger. the xr-10, at least in my opinion, is more suited for competitive use plus you will have to assemble it and get all your electronics. hope this helps

well it sounds like since you are new and you are looking for rtr, that you might want to check out the ax 10.

The MK42 Bully axle are tough. I dont think you will have to worry about breaking anything on one of those other than rod ends or something small like that. A XR10 is the best performing of the two, however you will have to buy 2 sets of RC4WD gears, and upgrade the bearings right off. Plus motors, and electronics of you choice. A XR will cost more. I wouldnt waist the money on a AX10. Just like the XR10, it will need some upgrade part right out of the box.

as stated above, the xr10 will end up being more expensive, and in my opinion, still kind of fragile. for a kid or even someone just starting out, get the bully. in the future, it can be modded to be more competitive, if that's what you're after. i have one of each and i love my bully because i can hammer down and not have to worry, too much.
