Default Ultimate Scale Yota REAR + K44 FRONT = under/overdrive?

I plan on ordering a cast yota front axle when they're released, but i have a cast rear coming in the mail.

i thought that i could just use my spare front k44 with the rear yota until i get a front yota.

then i realized the gear ratios might be different. i checked. they are
the yota (rear) ratio is 2.53:1
the k44 (front) ratio is 3:1

does that mean the front pinion/driveshaft has to spin 3 times for the axleshafts/tires to spin 1 time?

and the rear pinion has to spin 2.5 times for the tires to spin once?

in terms of over/underdrive like in axial axles... that would be like putting underdrive gears in the front axle, wouldn't it? that's generally the opposite of what you would want, right?

sorry for all the questions, i just need to bounce my ideas off someone. helps me think haha.

Yes it would be OD in the rear, not what you want. It will most likely increase torque twist and a few other nasty habits. Buy it will probably pull some mean wheelies with some decent power.

But it'll look like a d44 and ford 9 in. So it will be pretty true to scale if in a ford lol

my thoughts exactly ;) but it will be going on a hilux. i wish rc4wd would sell different gears to make OD/UD like axial does.

i think i'll try it out. it wont get much use until the yota front axle comes in, i just want to be able to drive it around the kitchen/couch/lovesack until it does come.

Yea if they sold different ring and pinions for there axles I would probably only buy their axles I have the k44's, trex 60's, and they've held up great, no issues what-so-ever but the gearing being set in stone jus kills me. If they would sell different gear ratios I would definitely buy an ultimate scale rear axle and do a full on, every little detail 73 bronco build lol. Anyway you should be fine driving it like that it'll just try not to turn even more.

if anyone was wondering, i am using this setup afterall (until i get a yota front axle). it doesn't push while cornering too bad... only on very loose surfaces, like gravel/wet rocks.
edit: but that's to be expected with any locked-differential vehicle
