| Need Help picking the right scaler for me!
Im Looking into buying a 1/10th scaler for this summer, but need help deciding what chassis suits me more. Im not a noob to R/C cars what so ever, just new to crawling. Your help will much appreciated Its down to the SCX10 and RC4WD Trail Finder. SCX: I like the price and availability of parts. TF: I love the look of the D35 Axles that come with it, along with the 2speed Im going for the pure scale look down to the axles. I like the Hilux, F150 and Tundra bodies, so Im not sure which chassis fits those the best. Thats pretty much what Im looking for. Any help will be great, thanks Last edited by driftin2crawlin; 04-12-2012 at 04:39 PM. |

I think this will be the first time I've ever recommended anything other than the scx10but it sounds like you've done some homework and the Trail Finder 2 is for you. You can make just about any body fit the scx10 and install a 2 speed trans but the axles are not as scale as the Yota axles. |

Check out the new TrailFinder2 as well. It's cheap and has great parts in it,

1. My other problem is deciding whether I like the 4link or leaf spring setup. Not sure what looks more scale. 2. Are there widening kits for the TF if I dont want the Narrow "yota" look? 3. Can D35 axles fit the SCX10 if I wanted to swap them out? Last edited by driftin2crawlin; 04-12-2012 at 05:39 PM. |

Its hard to go wrong with a SCX-10, they have set the standard for scalers and parts/upgrades are available just about anywhere. I would get the TF2 over the TF, the parts are all better and the new trans/transfer case and body are stunning. Mine should be here tomorrow! As far as widening the RC4WD axles, you could get some wider hexes but that will only get you so far. There are probably some wideners that would work but they really screw up the steering since the knuckle will still stay in the stock location. Anything is possible if you are capable of pulling it off, there are many SCX-10's with different axles under them shouldnt be that hard to pull off. |

Thanks for the repies! I really like the TF2 and the 4 link kit for it. The drawback is the Yota Axles, I dont want to be running 1.5 tires. I like bigger and wider set ups I really like the SCX10, Im just trying to find a set of more scale looking axles for it. Im kinda leaning towards the SCX10 though because of the parts variety Last edited by driftin2crawlin; 04-13-2012 at 01:27 AM. |

Yota axles are wider then the D35's.. Unless your planing a 2.2, I would go TF2 if you want really scale looks anyway.. The yota axle is a better built axle then the D35 IMO, Last edited by sloppy; 04-13-2012 at 01:52 AM. |
