It depends. If you're just wet-laying the CF, then there may be no weight benefit to carbon fiber at all. If you are vacuum bagging it you can use less resin etc and can see a weight savings.

Someone said that they had the exact same chassis, one in delrin and one in carbon and the delrin was actually lighter. I think delrin is lighter than carbon fiber, but less rigid. Therefore you need more of it to achieve the same rigidity of carbon. So in short delrin is technically lighter, but less rigid, therefore requiring more material.
