hobbyking cyber monday is a scam

just placed a rather large order thru hobbyking on there cybermonday sale, total BS....... offered free shipping on all usa warehouse items and order was placed accordingly. only usa warehouse items... anyway, after an hour chatting with customer service they tell me I have several items not in us warehouse and my shipping charges would be $79.00 for my 10 items, Total BS and all future orders will be placed with hobbypartz.com instaed, stepping off soapbox now, thanks

You need to be very selective with items you pick. If you pick an item that's available from multiple warehouses it will ship from China first. What you need to do is configure your account for US only (it's on the left where you pick warehouse). Then stuff will only show for US based shipping.

I haven't ordered from them but have "shopped" a bunch and end up deleting my cart and going to the local hobby shop and buying there. Most of the time it's more expensive from local, but at least I can go back for help when needed.

yeah , stupid me thought if I placed items in my cart that had american flags next to them it would automaticlly pull from US warehouse. nope. you are correct, you have to configure for US only.... too much hassle.... heading to LHS now, where I can see what I am getting and know the price before checking out.

One of the reasons I don't like dealing with HobbyKing is the way their site is set up. Too many international warehouses with stock listed differently for all of the products. It's just a hassle.

I have been ordering from HobbyPartz for over a year and haven't had any issues. For anything other than batteries, I use one of several different vendors on Ebay for smaller purchases, and Tower and Amazon for larger ones.

I try to avoid HobbyKing as much as I can.

You guys know we have GREAT vendors here in the USA that support our hobby? Try them, keep the money in the USA, not China.

Hobbypartz did the same thing kinda. They offered 20 percent off and free shipping but the prices were the same as the week before and the shipping went from a $50 order to a $100 order. I had ordered 2 gens ace batteries the first week of November for a total of $60 bucks and got free shipping now I have to order $100 worth to get free shipping? horseshit I say.
