Default MIP drive shaft TIP

Just thought I would share something I figured out last night. One of my pins came out of my MIP shaft and I lost it. I didn't have an extra one so I started looking around for something else. I found out that a needle bearing out of a Dana 60 front axle ujoint is the perfect size and fit right in snuggly. And you know it should be really strong. It could be ground down to fit flush but I like have the little extra on the edges so I can see if it's moving on me or not. Just thought I would let people know.

And I will have all the spares I'll ever need from just one broken 60 ujoint.

probably not many variations of those needles. bet almost any from an automotive sized u-joint would work.

Way to think outside the box.

And now you can say your R/C has one-ton parts!

My OCD would never allow a hex pin in my driveshafts.

In my experience as an auto tech, there are lots of different sizes of needle bearings in U-joints. I know the rollers in a Dana 44 297 joint are smaller diameter and shorter.

How long until we get grease-able joints with protective miniature CV boots? That's what I want.
