Default A question about courses, trees?

so im diving into crawling balls deep (but thats for another thread) and im going to end up with a comp and a scaler.

in the midst of this process, im building a backyard track and looking at examples of different tracks here on the board. one thing im NOT seeing is "trees" in the course.

i know that IRL most 1:1 crawlers dont just go to rocky places, they head through woods, over downed trees, across forest bed, navigate rocks and even have to go under felled trees and limbs.

but on tracks, i see wide open spaces. i know its not a viable thing to have real trees in the track, but some PVC or dowel rods painted to look the part (or if you want to splurge, fake trees but only the body.) and wont create a canopy that would block the drivers view.

is there a reason for this?

im going to build a multi terrain course but just wanted to get some input.

I made my backyard course out of an old game trail and it has trees and roots all over it. There one of the most challenging obsticales for any wheeled vehicle rc,quad, land cruiser, skidder I have been high centered on a log with almost everything. Just build your course however you want it. My favorite 1:1 TTC challenge is when they have the muddy log put with the logs all placed in a v pattern. Stops a lot of rigs.

hiya!

maybe something like this laid on its side?
this is edging for landscaping. it is 3ft long and the tallest ones are 7in. I am thinking of laying 2 down off set (interlocking) on an incline... maybe with water running down?

I do plan on removing the bar.

$9 each @ homedepot

to solve your tree problem, i got some small quart sized evergreens at lowes for my rcorv park. they look good for scale trees and they are very low maintenance and grow slowly. they stay green all year round also. the only had thing is they arent cheep...$16 - 20 each.

on my course i have big trees that we plan to use and build spiral stairs wrapping around the tress but the rest is rocks.... lots and lots of rocks... somewhere like 40,000lbs of them... i live inbetween 2 mountains so if i wanna go trailing i can go there.
