Yes, loads of people run a 9.6 some of the toy cars from walmart come with these blue packs that say 9.6 on them, just fold it up and put a band of electrical tape around it.
P.S. It's only like 2 more cells

He means that with the stock electronics you would have all throttle or none at all with all of that power... It would be hard for you to crawl that way... you should upgrade your electronics so you have progressive throttle and steering...

Default 9.6 with hobby grade ESC

Ok, here's my deal. I got an ESC real cheep with reverse and can handle 8.4v sub-c. I want to run a 9.6v Tyco battery but don't want to fry my ESC. Do you guy's think it will take it with no problems?

Didn't get an answer for my first question so I just went for it and the 9.6 works great. The only problem I'm having now is my HG steering servos seem week. I'm running narrowed 2.2's but it just don't seem right that the servos are having a hard time turning them. All of my other RC's have never had this problem but that's with a 7.2 sub-c so this is new territory for me. I'm tempted to install the 4 AA thing that came with my radio. Any ideas?
