Default Winch hook removal?

Is there a trick to removing the stock hook from the rc4wd winch? I see a pin but it doesn't seem to come out. Are you supposed to bend the pin straight?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Should be a small wire on one side..... Pull that and push pin out. May need to punch it out with a smaller pin.

The cotter pin will likely break when you straighten it, so if you plan to re-use the same hook, make sure to have a new cotter pin.

Thanks for the input. I didn't see or think of the obvious. Since I'm changing the line, I could just cut the old wire off. My 43 year old brain just doesn't work like it used to.

Thanks again for your input.
