Default GD-600 Rock/Dirt shield... Pics...

One of the things I didn't like about the GD-600 when I got it was how easy dirt and rocks could get lodged between you gears, so I made a little piece to fix that on my upcoming project...

I had some really thin sheet metal laying around from something, so I got out the sissors (yea sissors not snips, lol) and drew out my demensions and this is what I came up with:

Side View

Front View (notice the RRP 9 tooth pinion)

Let me know what ya think...

Thats O.K. Rick,nobodies perfect :P

I don't know if I'd ever have trouble with dirt in the gears. The way mines possitioned next to the body, even busting mud/water holes,it stays real clean. Cool idea though.

I noticed the output shaft of your GD600 is smaller than the one on the GD600 I just purchased. are there different versions or did you machine it down?

You need to machine it down from what I've heard.

Hey, you have to do some trimming on the pede tranny but yes it will fit... also I just stuck mine in my drill press and used a file... and its perfectly true...
