that's pretty cool, although with sealed up kongs on, almost anything will float, lol i was thinking of doing an 8 wheel t-maxx and trying to swim that... it was going to be called aqua-maxx but with my luck it would be submarine-maxx.. or shorted out electronics-maxx.. lol bdr |

Yes outting your tires on backwards gives you more traction on the rocks and other terrains. jugg_crawler |

ok here it is.. the exact words of what he wrote on outerlimits.. Well, the reciever, esc and batteries stayed high and dry the whole time. The servo only got wet on the case... nothing entered it as it never really went under water. THe Kongs would be floating before the servo got near the water. I also took some extra care to protect he servo from water...applied a bit of silicone to areas where water could enter if it tried. Only problems are the rear diff and rear knuckles. Knuckle bearings are all toast, bearings wobble around in the races. Output for the diff pinion is gone. It's just time to figure out if I want some Maxx based hybrid axles or X-Factor ones. I told my wife that I broke it and was told it's okay to spend money to fix so I'm just looking at options now. |

Hey guys... I'm not insane. You'd all try it too. For those who haven't seen all the pics of the Kong testing day: http://www.da-juggy.com/DaJuggy/02-08-2004/ Here's from after I got them on: http://www.da-juggy.com/DaJuggy/Kongs/ Plan to see more Kong tire testing from me..... well, once I fix all the broken parts. |

You'd be amazed after you run them... they will seem like their the correct size. This crawling trend is just like the 1:1 world of wheelin'.... back in the good 'ol days('80's-early '90's) most people thought that 33-35's were the perfect size though some thought 35's were too big. Now everyone sees 37's as a standard height. Kongs will start to be more in the trend, probably not right away as the price still needs to drop to get more sold but soon I bet you'll be seing a lot more of them. I hope Imex comes out with more tread designs in this size. The only problem is gearing...I have 8-tooth pinions and MM's powering these suckers. It has okay low end but nothing like before. A gear reduction unit is really needed to be more gracefull runnign these. Then there's the problem of breakage of parts.....parts will just get bigger to match. One way I see a way around breaking drivetrain parts, at least in center tranny mounted rigs is to have the gear reduction units at the hubs, portals. Then the stress is only at the hub, save the rest of the components from the stress. |

Hell...my 39.5's are too small anymore! Almost done with my "jump on the tube wagon" buggy, and I think my kongs are gonna be too big. Already pre ordered a set of the krock's. |

My clod floats on normal tires, but the servos are underwater sometimes. Doesn't hurt anything though. Having an amphibious truck is fun. |
