Default Scrappy build up

well, its been awhile sense I posted any pics of my nylint so I decided to "re-new" it, I'm gonna build a custom cheap A not very good looking chassis, and use nothing but stock nylint parts to make it sounds like fun to me so when I get started on ti tommorow I will get pics up of it and tell yall how its going

I Will try to have updates to day but my comp came down with a spyware virus. So far I have named it Scrappy and I've got the front end links and susp. all setup and the rear has the track bar installed. all I need now is 4 more shocks and It will be running.

specs so far are:

WB: 12.5 inches
GC: 4 inches
Tires Size: Gonna get some either mashers or moabs 2.2s but for now, newbright tires it is!
Chassis: my own custom "Scrappy"

I used a bunch of old shocks I had lying around for link ends and I also widened my axles using other nylint parts. I will have pics and instructions on how I did it for those who want to know.

ok yall, I am getting my comp back tommorow from the shop and hopefully I can start ordering parts and getting pics up. I'm just curious though, how am I gonna adapt 2.2s to my axles? everytime I go check ok the one in the link mod thread thing, it wont let me see it for some doof ball reason. I did a search and came up with nothing helpful either.

Oh, and also, if anyone is willing to part with a set of 4 nylint shocks or sell them, please let me know k?

Updates are a coming!

Default 2.2 mounting

There are two ways that I know of. The most popular is using the stock nylint chrome rim and mounting it to the back side of the 2.2 wheel by running screws threw both rims. The other is using wheel adapters and heating up a hex wrench of the correct size & pushing it threw the adapters. The first one sounded easiest so thats what I used.

can't see the pics bro, but thanx for the help! it will help when I get the tires here in, and what sucks about them is, is that my parents bought me the same set with the same rims I pointed out to them a month ago and now they are holding them till christmas lol evil

Whoo got my comp back and now time for updates!!

Its coming along good, and if ya think the chassis looks all cut up and stuff, its supose to be like that, hense the "Scrappy" name. Still waiting on someone to make me a offer for a set of four shocks but nothing yet so the back will stay like it is for awhile till I either get some shocks off the internet or run across another nylint.

Thats strange! I was just looking at this thread last night & the pics. I posted were coming up fine for me but now that I'm at work & looking at the thread your wright they r not working. It sucks because I allready deleted them from my photobucket account. They r still on my computer @ home so I will c if I can get them to come up tonight but till then I hope u can see this one. Look @ the wheel on the left and u can c the nylint rim inside the Stampede wheel.

hmm, I think I get what ya mean. with the new bright tires I have on now all I did was just glue the indie and outside of the nylint rim to the original. it works well, but man is it a pain to take apart to replace something.

I've got so many of those stinkin new bright tires around its sick. The hardest part about mounting the nylint rim is getting things lined up. Mine are a little off center but at crawl speeds you can't tell. The best way I found is to drill threw the back side of the nylint rim and out the front then sand off the chrome and glue it to the back of your 2.2 wheel then drill all the way threw both wheels.

I got rid of most of the stuff I did not need. Sold it all on EBay. I see your three link set up is like mine except I used the blue cross bar inside my chassie. Keep up the good work and keep us updated.

lol its how I cut it to give it a "Scrappy" look. and its also the front right link is a few turns longer than the left so I turned it down some and got it all lined up now.

Heres some updates, I got my rear links done...but at a great cost..I'm still minus 1 shock, but right now I think I might have to get some Maxx shocks cause these nylint ones aren't holding it up all the greatest :-( kinda disappointing but if it has to be done, so be it. I also got my electronics done and re-wired my motors with longer wires but I accidently put the negative to positive and vise versar on the rear motor so I got to fix that. the battery is something fun on its mounting point, it just mounts right in between the two front chassis bolts and it sticks in nice and tight. I will hopefully have it moving under its own power here by 3 or so once I get a few things done.

Take no offense, but i'd rather have a nice looking crawler than a crappy looking one. i'd put the links on the stock chassis and cut the bottom off. it will be super light too. If you do it up good it will look great, but to each his own.
