Great kits, great prices, great bearings, great service. Not really a downside.

I Just got three kits in the mail and am very happy with them. I've been buying bearings for years, but the prices cannot be beat.

Rubber seals, both sides, is what we want for these rigs, right?

*Edit - And how do these compare to Avid bearings?

Avid bearings are good but after a few catastrophic portal bearing failures in my r1 i started using fast eddy and havnt had any issues thus far. As Holmes said no downside to fast eddy bearings

How about the bearing & screw kit combo? Is it good value? Is this $20 bucks worth of screws?

Fast Eddy is a great guy. I've met and talked with him at several Axialfests. Highly recommended.

Also, Fast Eddy supports the hobby by producing some really great build videos. They are helpful, technically sound and very entertaining. My wife really enjoyed the Yeti XL shock filling blooper.

I find them helpful because his videos points out places in the assembly process where it is very easy to make mistakes.

Here's probably a really dumb question. How can you tell when it's time to replace bearings (aside from them becoming noisy)?

Every comment above GTSLOW X1000. You cannot go wrong with Fast Eddy bearings and everything he offers besides bearings. I even like the Boob and Seal FS Banner.

No question is dumb but answers will vary on your question. For me, when i feel drag, gritty sound or too much play on the races they get replaced. I never replace just the bad one. If an outer Left chub bearing is bad for example, the chub and knuck get new ones. Just too many variables for me. I have a bag load of probably good bearings but for the $$ it is just the way i do it.
