I'm looking for the best crawling transmission possible for my tube crawler. I've heard most people talking about the emaxx tranny, but in one post u guys were talking about the mammoth gearbox and how extreme it is. and then theres the TXT and Jugg trannies aswell. which one is my best bet to go with for the best ratio and parts availability, and best over all use and popularity. I forgot to mention that i'm using emaxx diffs so it would be nice if they'll bolt up, (yes i know that the emaxx tranny will bolt up to the emaxx diffs the best). thanks for any advice

Mammoth and Jugg share the same tranny. The Mammoth only has an added gear reduction and runs one motor. The TXT is basicly the same as Jugg/Mammoth... other than the output shafts, large enough to fit Maxx 2.5 sliders. Both Mammoth and Jugg trannies can be upgraded to TXT shafts. The E-Maxx tranny is a good one too. Although I have no experience with it but it seems to be a tough little unit. Few of the ORCRC guys run a Stampede tranny in their crawlers. The 'Pede tranny is light, tough, easy to fit into tight areas and is cheap. Adding a reduction unit to it is easy as it would be for a TXT-Jugg-Maxx tranny. My newest crawler(top secret) doesn't have a tranny yet... I'm tossed between a 'Pede, Maxx, TXT or some homebrewed tranny. |

i have only dealt with a Maxx and a pede tranny.. the Maxx is a tough setup as long as you lockout 2nd gear. the slop sucks i haven't ran the Pede tranny much, but for what i have, my next project will use it also.very light and seems strong. just need to lock the diff up to use it. which is cakework..i just used hot glue in mine and its been holding fine |

ok so the mammoth tranny and the jugg tranny are the same, except for the gear reduction. is that gear reduction internal or external? and as far as the stampede goes for now your talking about the diff basically because as far as i can tell the stampede tranny and diff are one part. and i'm not sure what to look for when trying to find the parts to build it or even where to look to get a whole one. can u guys help with that as well?
