Default Deadbolt ax10 or scx10

looking at getting an official crawler, something other than the twin hammers. I have a yeti and love the 2.2 sized tires. I have a. Oat load of 1.9 rims and tires and about 10 brushless motors and 3 escs. The point is which one to pick? I love the deadbolt body. The rig would be brushless and it would not be a technical crawler or involved in any competition. I would like to not drop a ton of money if possible and am thinking the greater stability of the ax10 may be an advantage.

Please share any and all thoughts. I know there is a ton on some of this already, but if the ax10 is going to be discontinued or the scx10 is going to be revised (can't imagine that). I would love to know. The price difference is 30 bucks new and I would likely pick up a roller off of eBay.

Thanks in advance for the thoughts.

A lot of the choice comes to what You want to do with it. A couple years ago, (before the Deadbolt body came out), I bought an AX10 Ridgecrest. I didn't like the included body, so the first thing I did was purchase a couple aftermarket bodies. Then after finding out how it ran stock, I realized I needed to upgrade certain parts due to too much flex, as in steering links and servo. Changed the stock motor to a 35t. Ran that for a while, then decided I wanted to put the axles and guts onto an SCX10 chassis and build a wroncho. Now the parts are sitting on a 1/6 Jeep. Your creative imagination is the only thing in the way, and maybe your wallet. Whatever you decide to do, there's plenty of advice and criticism to be found here, just enjoy the hobby, and don't let the ballbusters get to you.

Here is a thought.....lol. You could always get the wrangler g6 kit, for the same price as the scx10 version deadbolt and pick up a deadbolt body. You said you have the motors and esc's so that area is covered. And with the g6 kit you get better shocks, metal links and steering etc. And right now tower hobbies has the g6 on sale for $269......and sell the jeep body if you want to. Just my .02c

Cheers,
Wade

I own an ax10 scorpion and it works great for a crawler, I added it a 65t motor, rear steer, aluminum goodies, and it is a beast. Bit if you want a very capable shafty, the Losi night crawler works great out of box, I own 1 also.
