I bought my daughter a wraith at about 7 yrs old, i changed the gearing to 87/12 and five years later she is still on the stock motor. Most of her time is spent driving her dolls around. Whatever you do get gear it down to about 7:1 and it should last until they get older and understand how to drive.

I got my son a max stone 16 and he loved it inside the house. The first time outside he was frustrated with the rc because it wouldn't go where my scx10 would. I sold it and got him a dingo let him pick the color and helped me some with assembly he's 4 so lots of rolling the tires etc. Imho Long story short get 3 rcs that proform similar. There are times my son dosnt want to go trailing (I always charge his battery just in case) however he usually wants to go and he loves to help clean up the rcs after use. Nihm batteries are fine for the kids again IMHO are what we use mostly. I think your kids will all go driving the rc to spend time with you . if you don't have get a charger that dose 2 batteries at once or even an extra charger. My son looses interest waiting for the batteries to charge when I had only a single charger, now I can charge 3 at a time.

| Re: Dads This is a very good point. Make sure you have a good multi charger or multiple chargers. We have two AC6 chargers and I am thinking about getting a third just to cut down on charge time and storage charge times.

Whenever kids are involved it's always going to be cheaper and more driving/less wrenching to go with the SCX over the Wraith. Just my $.02, but it would make life easier if all their trucks are equally capable, and makes stocking parts that much easier. |

I have a 6 year old boy with scx10 g6, and a 12 year old boy with a ax10 deadbolt. The g6 is just the right speed for the 6 year old, and it last just right for him. The ax10 deadbolt is fast. And my 12 year old loves it. And last battery wise same as g6. They want to drive them everyday lol. Here is a pic of their rigs with my tf2. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It all depends on the age and the kid, but I've been looking at getting into RC as something to do with my boys. I was thinking Wraith, but have my eye on the Yeti as well. Speed and jumps are cool for kids, and easy to drive. Crawling takes a lot more skill and patience. I'm also a lot closer to places to go bash than I am to places to crawl.
