That's not good at all. What universals are those and what kind of setup are you running?

I've had Vanquish VVDs in mine for over a year running sensored brushless on 3S with no issues. I have RC4WD XVDs in several other rigs that have help up very well, also.

They are supposedly axial brand, and I'm running 2s brushless. So either one of those would be a good choice then? I saw RC4WD's are a little cheaper

The Axial universal shafts are good but you have to make sure the cross pin is centered or you'll end up in your situation.

I have vvd's in a rig and they're nice enough but for the money I'll take universals every time.

That and the Epa are set up correctly...... end of ear is bent...... more likely you turned joint too far and it bound. U have to grind ears down to get that much clearance for that deg of steering.

And put correct screws in your c hubs
