| Sporty upper links tech questions
So i'm building up a sporty with ax10 axles and am happy with my lower links. My question is regarding uppers and their relative mounting locations to the axle. Specifically the advantages / disadvantages of: 1. mounting inboard or outboard 2. height of attachment to axle. I've seen many where they have quite simply been attached where they could! But i have seen quite a few different mount locations... Thanks |

1. Mounting outboard gives you more triangulation.. 2. Height of attachment to the axle/link plate, will depend on your chassis mounting locations and tuning. Personally, I mount under the link plate. So links are sitting level or sloping up, to the chassis |

Thankyou winnerone23. I understood the triangulation but wondered what relationship it offered to a crawler? IE what the benefits / disadvantage are regarding actual performance?. And if i've understood correctly re the upper link height, it's location is just to satisfy chassis end and obviously axle path travel (twist). I love suspension tech, just need to understand more! It's interesting that there are so many configurations, for instance my LCC has the lower links more inbound on the axle with the upper further out - which is opposite to most configurations.. |
