Dear SuperShafty,

Just watched this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Or-m_P9yXdw

and noticed my Beefy Top shaft has a lot of play. In the above video, The small tiny little pin should tight fit to go through the top shaft, as the video clearly see, you need a hammer to tap down the gear.

But mine none like the video, mine's little one and a half pin just goes through the gear easily( just a hand force ) and after completely installed all the items and The ULTIMATE" Motor Plate. The top shaft still will slide back and forth in the transmission. I am truly disappointed, because I thought SuperShafty should be well in engineering tolerance and precision in their products.

It also seems the one and a half pin just shorten as it should. ( The little pin should be a bit longer as the video shown )

Could it be the defective items I received? ( All my trans gears are Heavy duty gears from Hot Racing )

p/s: It would be great if you would be able to resend me a replacement unit.

Thank you

Did you put two old bearings/ bushings between the case and clutch hub? That was in directions, you can see one here

Dear mikemcE, Thank you problem solved. The problem was when the SuperShafty Beefy Top Shaft came into my doorstep, The whole package was lack of the instruction manual, so I have to figured out how to install all these things.

Until today I watched this video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Or-m_P9yXdw&t=16s ) and noticed my trans has a lot of play.

But it is all over now and problem solved after putting the two old bearing as per instruction from mikemcE.

mikemcE, Thank you so much being patient with me and teach me a lot of things here. Truly a good guru and good friend.

p/s: But still wonder why the tiny one and a half pin is shorten? It should be longer a bit and very tight fit.

That video is old 2013?
Mike might have made the 1.5 a tad shorter for press fit. Mine was snug and worked perfect with HR gears. Good Luck !

hey guys,

thanks for the help Mike with Teng,

Teng. The video it old and we have started to use stronger pins now. They are a little bit shorter, and depending on the gear that you put them in some have to be hammered in, and some slide in with little to no effort.

The trick to having no slop is putting 2 5-10-4 bearings between the case and the spur gear pin. I would love to ever have slop in the topshaft, but depending on what brand gears you are using some are tight on the 1.5 pin and some are just slide on.

Also, instructions will also be made for these parts very soon. thanks for the suggestion!

anything else?
