Default Axles spinning opposite directions

I have a crawler I have been slowly modifying over the years. It is a TVP shafty comp crawler. It currently has a scx10 XR mod front axle (wide width with beef tubes using an xtra speed pot metal housing). I thought I could add an scx10 ii axle to the rear to gain some ground clearance and to underdrive the rear. I bought the SSD pro44 complete rear axle. I noticed as I was building it the gear is oriented opposite to how it is in the OG scx10 axle. Sure enough, the axles spin in opposite directions. Is there an easy fix for this?

Switch to an SSD Diamond center section and move the rear axles ring gear to the opposite side. I think the center sections are like $12 and you'd reuse the rest of your current rear axle.

edit: Diamond 44 Center Housing Set
My understanding is this would require the pinion/driveshaft to exit very low on the housing...is this not true?

It doesn't appear to be reversible. Are there some og scx10 housing variants that allow this?

Maybe? You might have better luck finding a transfer case with one reversed output

As far as I'm aware, you can mount the pinion high or low, makes no difference as it is centered (left to right) in the support. Putting the ring gear on the opposite side will reverse the axles direction of rotation.

Flipping the ar44 reduces clearance below the driveshaft, and due to the design of the gears they only go together one way. The two easiest solutions are flipping the ring gear in the front axle, which is not possible on some axles, or a special transfer case that makes each driveshaft counter-rotate (usually advertised as torque twist reducers/eliminators or something like that for bombers and wraiths).

I believe that is not correct, as I was specifically referring to SSD's diamond 44 that has a separate pinion support housing. Maybe @SSD can clarify?

Edit: Aaahhh, I see now, only low pinion with ring gear on the passenger side (rear axle), or high pinion with ring gear on drivers side would work. Low pinion may not be preferred, but it should at least work.

I could see going to a counter-rotating trans like a Dlux fab Cheezeburger, but at that point it might be more cost effective to switch to an AR44 front instead?

Thanks for the input so far. I don't have room in my setup for a separate transfer case. Something like the cheez berger could work, but would be fairly expensive considering I already have a transmission I'm happy with (plus it seems to be out of stock on dluxfab and has been for a while).

I prefer to keep my front axle if possible as it has proven to be very durable and is pretty high performing. I'm hoping there might be a cheaper og scx10 axle housing that allows the gear to flipped. I would at least toy with the idea of switching to an AR60 front, but I might just sell my SSD pro44 rear axle if it comes to that.

You can flip the gear in the SSD Diamond Pro but then the third member needs to be flipped giving you a very low pinion. Not a good idea.

So you have two options now:
Use an SCX10 II front axle

Or
Use as SSD D60 for SCX10 on the front as the ring gear is on the opposite side.
We no longer have the XR width option but the Pro Steering kit superseeds that anyway.
