Internal servo winch spool I'm looking to build a internal spool servo winch. I'm having issues locating a spool for it. The builds I have seen use a 3racing winch spool and bearing. Does anyone know where I can buy just a spool and bearing? Or do I have to buy a whole scale winch and tear it apart? Anyone know of other spools that might work for this application? Thanks for the help and knowledge! Have a great day! |
Re: Internal servo winch spool I dont think it matters just use a shaft and some washers the only porpise of the spool is to keep the line in place with a internal spool the line is kept in place by the case the washers will keep the line from binding inside the case |
Re: Internal servo winch spool I didn't even think of that. That's a good idea. Thank you. Could always solder some aluminum washers to a aluminum tube and make my own. I kinda like the one side riding in a bearing. I'll figure something out. |
Re: Internal servo winch spool Check out HeyOK or Powershift, they both make servo winches and you might get some ideas. :) 8) |
Re: Internal servo winch spool You can create a bearing pocket with epoxy just make sure you coat the bearing with grease first And be sure to post up what you end up with |
Re: Internal servo winch spool Great ideas in here, I also came up with this in a search, they used a sewing spool and one used some (round) servo horns that often come with servos and dont get used. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/tools...nch-spool.html |
Re: Internal servo winch spool Thanks for the pointers guys! It might be a bit before I dig into this project, but when I do I will surely post it up on here. |
