Redcat gen8 axles any good

how good are the gen 8 axles? I'm thinking of buying a set off amain for a build.

Depends on how you plan to treat them and what your idea of "good" is.

I've got 2 sets, one set in my Gen7 and one in my Gen8 (obviously). I've broken neither, but the Gen8 has a total of 10 minutes of runtime so far. The Gen7 has had more runtime, but nothing really taxing. Most guys don't seem to be breaking parts, but some are. Most common are the upper portal gear/CV joint in the front, and also the steering tie-rod to a lesser extent. The steering can be easily fixed by replacing their chincy crap with your own links & Revo rod ends, but the portal gears are a bit more of an issue right now. Until somebody starts making a nice CNCd set from some good quality steel, it'll continue to be an issue. Whether it's an issue that will plague you would be tough for anybody but you to determine.

I'm thinking about making adapters to make them ar60 width, or so the portals themselves fit in ar60s.

I bought a set of portals for the 7 and so far impressed , they have taken a beating and surprisingly have held up well. looking for a set for my SCX10

Bought my gen 8 yesterday and in less than 30mins the front right driveshaft/cv pin snapped and now im stuck with only a 3wheeler..ugh thought this was the better choice over the trx4
