| '46 power wagons.
I'm building a '46 power wagon soon and I am stuck on tyre choice, I've already used the search function and Google to find some reference images of '46s, mainly trying to see the tyre size/pattern I like to suit my build, but figured I'd ask here too as I know there's a lot of guys on here with serious skills and people who get it just right. So, anyone with a '46 power wagon body, please post an image or two below and the tyre you're running. It would be most helpful |

I don't have a PowerWagon, but a couple of thing come to mind... For a scale look you want the RC4WD military tread. But for crawling then likely something more capable. The Proline BFG Krawler is a reasonable representation of a vintage tire tread. Just a couple of options to consider... |

I'd say the main thing is to stick with a somewhat narrow but tall tire. There are many options out there that would look "right" on the Power Wagon, typically those of a military or agricultural tread design. |

I've ran a few different tires, the Krawler TA's and the Mad Beasts. Krawlers are a bit more fitting for the era I think, the Mad beasts are narrower though your wheel choice effects this too. I wanted sticky tires more than era correct though. This is on an HPI Venture Krawler TA's on RC4WD stamped steel wheels Mad Beasts on Gearhead UTE wheels |

They've become my favorites just because they're as bright as I like to go, bright enough on 3s but not so bright its an annoyance. I typically pull these lights out of their casings to fit into smaller buckets, I also re-solder the leads to get them a bit more compact and routed better. And speaking of no room you should see how much space I'm working with, Sim rig, couch, bed and hobby table all in one room lol, but I dont have an S.O. or little ones to worry about. | |
