Default Carbon fiber

What is the general opinion about this material for cars, specially for Crawlers?
And...what would you like to see made out of this material for them ??

I have seen some very nice, and very capable rigs with carbon fiber chassis, its a material that works very well in this application. You want to use carbon fiber when you want to lighten up the chassis, but don't want to sacrifice strength and durability. I had a carbon fiber TVP chassis on my AX10 back in the days of comp crawling, I had no issues with it, it was stronger and lighter than any steel or aluminum chassis, and moved the CG down. The only only thing you had to really keep an eye on was the ends where it was cut to make sure the layers were not separating, and to prevent this from happening you ran a bead of CA along the edges.

The main drawback of carbon fiber is the price, it is the Gucci option, and unless you are REALLY serious about competing, or you just REALLY want it in your rig, may not be worth it.

I have seen employed with good use in chassis, bullheads, servo/winch mounts, and braces. So pretty much, the sky is the limit if you are willing to pay for it.

If you look at on-road, and carpet off-road, race vehicles, you'll discover that the gray majority of them either use CF chassis, or have CF chassis as an optional 'upgrade'. Look at the TC chassis, and you'll notice that the gray majority of the 'flat' parts are CF. As Scott said, great for strength, durability, and lightening the vehicles. Heck, I've even installed a few CF parts in my Losi Baja Rey. On top of that, one of my race FE boats has a CF hull & canopy.

I think everything should be made of carbon fiber... not only does it look badass and is absurdly strong for the weight.. but it’s carbon fiber lol
Some people will disagree though, and it’s probably not practical for every application. But if it’s carbon and I can afford it I’m buying it

How about some carbon fiber links (uppers) or axle housings, carbon fiber wheels, actual molded parts. I know at this tiny scale it wont make sense or be easy but it would be cool to see stuff beyond the typical carbon fiber sheets that are cut into shape for the final product.
