Default Rock Racers 1/10 and 1/8 ? 2023

Where is the section for these Cars here? Where do we discuss these rigs?

I have decide to sell couple speedrunners soon.
One Limitless and couple other rigs.

I dont like Speedrunning at all anymore.
Too expensive, way too fast, there is really no fun here.
More nervous thing and i need travel with my Car far to be able do these runs. Im tired do this for couple nervous 20seconds blasts only.

I will sell 3cars total. These are expensive builds.

I will use these money to buy options and things to other rigs i have already.
Then i want buy one Rock Racer also new.

There is one problem
Where is the Cars? I see only one decent new Losi Hammer-ray
All others are very old and they have problems.

I dont want one Losi. Why is there no other brands?
Or have i missed something here?

Wheels must be outside body. Rock Racer.
I have already SCT / Desert Racers.
These are pain in the ass because all dirt.

Rock Racers are cool because you dont need clean alot , because wheels
are outside body.

Buggy is too low. They dont handle Rocks at all

Axial Ryft has also problems.

Why is there no new V2 better Ryft or others?

I prefer 4s. Worst Case 3s.
Roller will be the best for me, i have everything exxept the rig

Yeah they aren't too popular anymore. Could build your own like I did. A bomber, blue monkey IFS system, a few grand in upgrades, and you're golden. Problem is finding parts now....
Ryft seems to be the way to go now, just need to dump a buncha money into it. Whatever you choose to do, it'll be an expensive build if you want it to last taking a beating in the rocks and hills, especially on 4s. I run 4s hv in mine. Getting to the point now where I can't find good parts anymore, so I gotta go kinda easy.

The only problem is it usualy breaks every time i take it out

And dont try to drive it in a straight line or on flat ground lol

The choices are dwindling but there are some options.
Losi hammer Rey like u said but there is the lasernut to.
You can still find new in box bombers if u want solid axle to build around.
If you do some research there are people using the Tekno platform to build rock racers that seem to perform really well.

Used I would probably go with a rock Rey over yeti at this point but I just built up a used yet so what do I know. Parts are still out there but definitely getting harder to find.

Element also has the new ifs2 coming which you could build around for 1/10. That's my plan anyway

Best of luck with your choice

Strange they are not popular anymore. Do people really like
wash the cars alot? Have wheels inside body is not good i think.
Only good with this is you have less A-arm replacement and other things
because the big body covers wheels and A-arms in Desert Racers/ SCT.

Anyways the dirt inside is INSANE. Not good to cooling fans either.
You must have Dusty motor cover.

How old are these Bombers today?
Strange they dont make parts anymore.

Why they have not make one Yeti XL V2 ? I love the V1 by looks and size.
Hard to understand why they dont make new V2 of this great looking big
rig.

Problem is that here i live you can not find used Losis sadly.
And they are super expensive new, and parts.
We pay same like you in US + Tax. So Losi is 25% more expensive to us
here than to you in US.

I must read about that Element ifs2, never heard. Must goodle it now.

In worst case i will buy Ryft Kit.
These are at decent price here too.
Axial is no problem here i live.

How much money do i need spend extra to these Ryft Kits?
If i want one durable 4s to blast at Rocks and Hills.
Is 250$ in options enough? or do i need spend like 400-500$ Extra?

Well anyways, my Limitless build was 1600$ in US dollar to me.
And i dont like it anymore, Speedruns is boring and Dangerous..

Maybe it is worth get Ryft, with options
1200$ total, IF i love it and will use it alot.

Also they maybe have hard time make these new and durable?
If they made one durable 4s it would be priced at least 1100-1200 RTR ?
and then there is not many who buy one.

Only 1 of 10 needs 4s to these i believe, and super durable rigs.
Most are fine with 3s stock and pay less than about half RTR.

If you want rig like this Kit, and alot options awaible now. Then
Ryft is maybe the best? These will have parts many years still right?

I must google that Enduro now also.

.

Thank you guys alot for great info, advices, tips, and help

They dont make the yeti xl anymore cause they suck so hard
The only rig that can barrel role going in a stright line with just a blip of the throttle
They dont steer for poop
They break every run
The bearings are all undersized
And there werent alot of afordable upgrades making them extremely exspensive
And basicly if you dont have the hammer trails just out your back door i dont know wete you could run one to its potential
Its axials red headed step child they wish would go away

Goddamn, sad, they look nice anyways.

This is many times normal for V1 rigs.

Arrma Kraton 6s V1 was pure Crap.

V2 little bit better

Couple years later V3 here they are OK now.

V4 later and here they are great now. Best on the market that time

V5 and now they are very good. Maybe the best on Market.

Im shure if Axial XL made V2 , fix the problems couple years ago.
And released maybe V3 now 2023 they have been great rigs.
Same with many other cars.

V1 mostly sucks always no matter what brand you buy.

I dont understund why they did not make V2. V3 now.

Cancel the whole thing is always wrong.
Better fix the issues and make them better by new Versions.

Same thing With many other cars.

First Kyosho Infernos did suck.
V5-6 they start be great. Today they have Version 11

TRX Xmaxx V1 was not good. today these are V3 and better than first ones. Still not perfect.

Axial XL is one great looking car. I believe they have sell many cars if they had like V3 today. Almost bulletproof. Sad they Cancel models.
Bearing issues and other stuff is pretty easy things change.
This is what Traxxas needed also change, to bigger and better bearings, and other things with the Xmaxx

That new Enduro, it is build to be slow crawler?

Im worried it will not handle speed well? Maybe im wrong.

I believe Ryft Kit is they way to god.
Just wonder what are the most important Hop ups to have it strong enough?
Maybe there is treadhs i can read here about Ryft and what hop ups it needs?
If you know any, please link

This looks awsome, why did they not make one V2 and sell today?

Team Associated Nomad DB8 Limited Edition 1/8 Brushless Electric Desert Buggy
ASC80941
Team Associated

Price: $519.99

released 2017. 1/8 rock racer
https://www.amainhobbies.com/team-as...c80941/p676076

There is this also, i have read it is strong

FTX DR8 1/8 Desert Racer 6S Ready-To-Run

this is released 2020. Many like these.

Basher Queen in US start sell these now. And they will have
ALL Parts in US Stock.
These have been awaible from Amazon. Banggood. Aliexpress

I believe the strongest best BIG 1/8 rock racer would be
Arrma Kraton V5 with RPM A-Arms , couple hopups.
And the DR8 body.
Looks like this

Basherqueen-Cage-Body-Kit-Arrma-Talion-6S-EXB

I have one Kraton EXB and it is so durable with RPM a-arms
with 4s it would be great and super strong rock racer i believe.

Maybe i should try

Kraton is very easy mod to Talion, just shock tower front and rear.
Couple smal other things and you have one talion.

I have had a Nomad DB8 for YEARS and only ran about 4 battery packs through it.

Tires wear out extremely fast, and the ground clearance is awful - constantly dragging the big aluminum bellypan - at least it's strong.

I've wanted to sell it basically ever since I bought it - I just don't like driving fast anymore.

It handles well, jumps just fine, and is pretty fast on 4S - and I didn't break anything on it.

It MIGHT be more fun with a set of durable and much taller tires and wheel, but it has odd hubs that hardly anyone makes wheels for.

I hate messing with shipping, so one of these days I'll throw it on Craigslist and see if a local will buy it.

Have an extra set of body panels in the other color (mostly tan) and another set unpainted - and a full replacement cage - all brand new.

I did install some mounted Pro-line Badlands tires that at least fit OK, but I hate the motocross-tire tread design - they're not scale at all, and they aren't any taller than the stock tires were.

Sumbitch... You're good.

Reading through his posts there was something unsettlingly familiar, but couldn't quite put my finger on it. I think it was the way he states everything as fact and not just his opinion.

Losi Hammer Rey
Nice wheelbase. Too narrow. Rolls around way too easy :(

Anyone here who have Hex Wideners in your Losi Hammer ?
Are 15mm both sides enough? 30mm wider total 1inch+

Or better have 25mm wideners? 50mm total , 2inch wider.
2inch it must be stable like rock to the ground at fast speeds ?

15mm maybe best for soft-rock bounching, and 25mm wideners for fast desert driving ?
