That's the toughest aspect of setting up droop shocks - finding the right springs. What kind of shocks are you running? Quote:
When I experimented with no springs, my chassis would just "flop" back and forth depending on whch way the links pushed it. No predictability or control. But it would settle back to full rest w/o having to torque it the other way. Can you post a pic or two of your set up?

I picked up some from the Menards in Rockford. Been working awesome for me so far. I would recomend a 50/50 setup over a normal droop, just seems to work better. Droopy vs. conventional |

I Just Switched My Nn Chasi Last Week To Droop I Used Orig. Mini T Springs From The Stock Shocks . I'm Running Rear Spring In The Front , And Front Spring In The Rear With 40w Oil . Works Alot Better , Needs More Testing

I have no droop only up travel and have won a few comps with it that way. droop is highly overrated, tons of up travel and 1/4" of down

Or is it overrated because you tryed it, couldn't make it work & gave up? Try some mini-t springs

For me the setup with the least down travel is most consistant for what we run here and in PARC.. Like I said I have won comps set up this way Limiting down travel will make the rig much more stable on off camber situations, and climbing. The only issues I have are on off camber descents that have a ledge in the middle, lack of down travel there, causes teh rear to lift making it unstable. Adjusting your driving style can overcome that weakness.

I'd get the soft ones, you really don't need much as the springs don't support the load of the truck, just the axle and tires. Thinner the wire the better, you don't want the spring to eat a whole lot of travel. |

Instead of a short compression spring, I have about a third of "free travel" where the shock is not under any spring load. Works better than full internal springs for me. Quote:
I'm sure no expert, and I'm not doing anything new or innovative here I'm just going off of what I've learned from other set ups, but I made my TLT perform 10 times better by converting it to droop. I started easily cleaning lines that had stopped me before, and my rig rarely turns over anymore. I turned a tall backflipping turd into a rig that maybe might have a chance to make a decent showing at a comp (if it were legal) Droop works for me...
