Is that the MSRP or what we can expect to pay?

that is what you would pay ordering through IMEX. Dealer costs could vary, I'm sure.

I don’t hate IMEX I just really really hate when things get delayed. IMEX is like Microsoft they may have inexcusable quirks but have cornered the market. There is nothing that can be done in the short term to fight IMEX. There is no Linux equivalent for the R/C tire market. People need to just be happy that they have any big tire that is not a chevron thread. Like Dirk said the crawler marked is not as profitable as the racing/Maxx market. I think the best way to get IMEX or other companies to make crawler tires is to get R/C crawlers to be better known.

Ha! Any tire can be narrowed!!!! No one should say IMEX sucks. They don't! If you ask me, they are a very, very smart company. They remain cautious in an unstable market. They make tires that are universal and that is just plain smart. Why spend tons of money only to recapture what you've spent? IMEX is here to make money, not to make every RC guy happy.....so they do the best they can to make quality products that fit into as many niches as possible. I applaud IMEX for the products they make and the smart business decisions their upper management and owners make. I too would like to see a "perfect crawler tire", specifically for the clod and another for Maxx wheels but it will probably never happen but IMEX has come closer than ANY other manufacturer. I don't hear anyone harping on Proline or BotBodies over their tires. Interesting huh? |

I agree with Dirk on almost everything. People have complained about Pro-Line not making Giant Trac anymore. People just need someone to blame for R/C crawling not getting the support it deserves and a lot of people chose IMEX.

hey pete, your so good at cutting up tires i want you to make me a set since i see noone would ever make them( interco-for my 1:1 crawler or Imex) but i want a tire 7"-8" tall and have a center section like a super swamper( hot bodies tire) with bogger tread on the rest of it. then have a set of thornbirds claws added to the bogger tread...so when ya get bored Pete, cook me up something like that.. ohh, and make the sidewlls as strong as an SX tire i'll be waiting on you to call me saying they are done |

but seriously though. does anyone else know for sure what the sizes will be besides 4xadict or were they possibly lying to him about being 7" tall? i don't care how wide they are, like Pete said, any tire can be narrowed i just want at least a 7" tire |

Got an idea! After following this post, I was thinkin about calling Imex and asking them about what it takes to get them to design a specific tire. To show Imex theirs a need for it, maybe we could decide on a specific pattern and compound along with size and fit. Then we could show interest through a petition, tell other sites as well and maybe with enough interest you can have that dream tire you always wanted I was talkin to one of the tech guys about whats going on in the crawler world, I told him to check out this site. I also told him that people were narrowing tires. He sounded surprised and interested 8O If we dont let Imex know what we want, you cant expect any special treatment. He told me to e-mail him some pics of my rig when its done. I told him I would sportin a new set of Kongs How about e-mailin pics to Imex |

Tac95ker, its been done. Imex themselves had this poll where tires were voted on. A big scandal about ballot stuffers, people who voted way more than once ensued, then the mininum order number got hairy, and they canned the whole thing. I doubt they will do that again for quite some time.
