Default crawler project begins!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a newbie to this sport and I have started my first crawler. Specs:
axles: custom t maxx (axles built around tmaxx diffs)
motor: 1 550 titan motor
Chassis: custom 3/16 solid steel music wire
tires: swamp dogs
suspension: traxxas revo shocks, rockers
Tranny: custom

Any suggestions?

Pick-up a lathe motor to replace the 550, they have more torque.

i dunno about the rockers, its probably a lot easier and better to just mount them like everyone else around here, but if you get it to work, go you!

I highly suggest ya ditch that Titan motor. it is intended for 14.4 volts.. running one Titan motor on one battery will only cause it to run at half speed.. get a lathe motor or a Magnetic mayham motor...lathes are better unless your gonna run a GD600 reduction unit also

what do you guys usally use for trannys? I think I might use a 1/16 brass plate with 72 and 8 tooth gears.

I want the rockers there because it is something you don't see. And you won't bend your shocks if you roll it and hit a rock. Your right it MIGHT be easier to do it like everybody else, but I not like every body eles. Almost every thing in my crawler is going to be custom.
