I will admit, i don't really know shit when it comes to any of these electric motors anyway, how do i know what to hook wires to?? there is like 6 different places i can connect wires and do i need those resistors or whatever?? i can take a pic of the motor if that would help??

Sorry I do not know much about motor lathe's. Dumb question... Does it come with a instruction manual? |

there is no difference between a lathe motor and a normal modified 540 can the two tabs with the screws in them screw into the can. instead of soldering your capacitors to the can you solder them to the tab on the screw. use three capacitors an solder on from+ to the can one from- to can and one from neg to positive i put all three on one side. to find out what side is pos look at the black end bell and there should be a + sign and that side is the positive side does this help?

yeah but this thing has 4 screws.....2 with tabs only and 2 that have ground wires or something connected to those..i looked at the end and only see a + and it's off to the side( nowhere near either of the 2 screws w/ tabs only) i guess im just too much of a newbie and need to stick with more simple stuff owell, gotta get away from nitro someday here is a few pics of the end of it |

AdamF is correct. Basically all you have to do is look at the endbell. There is a + sign on it, place your positive lead there and your negative lead on the other side. You need to use the wide flat tabs to solder onto. Make sure you use the tabs that are seperated by the black plastic. The + and - leads shouldn't be on the same side 8O BTW, the Integy is an excellent crawling motor |

| Re: need motor help as quick as possible http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJY37&P=7 here are some capacitors. you don't need to use them, the motor will still function without them... but these will reduce radio noise, which will reduce glitching. here's two ways to hook up the capacitors. some companies run only one (the one that goes from pole to pole) but the grounds to the can can't hurt. you can run either style, but for the one that goes directly to the can you'll have to remove part of the label and scuff the can. but i'm assuming that the metal screw is threaded directly to the metal can. and this is how you wire it up. i circled that little plus sign on the endbell. thats how you know its the positive side. BUT if you remove the endbell and put it back upside down (180 degree rotation from how it is stock) you'll get a reverse rotation motor. |

well, i just got in....only ran it for a bit but it did pretty good. im still not sure if i like it yet or not. it will take some more playing around with..its slow and crawls great, but it seems the motor doesn't have enough RPM's to bump up over stuff. also, if it gets into a pretty good bind( tire in deep hole) it will stall the motor. i need to play around with the gearing until im satisfied. but one good thing about not having enough RPMs to spin the hell outta the tires is that i really don't see me breaking anything again due to all the torque that's a +, specially since the truck is for my 8yr old throttle happy son but like i said, i just need to play with the gearing some more and see how it does then. it just started getting to dark to actually see what was going on |
