| TUBER-LT getting powder coated, what color?
I've taking the tuber apart to get the frame powder coated. But I'm not sure what color to get it. I was originally thinking silver. But now I'm not sure. So here are some ideas. I wasn't planning on making new body panels but I could. So anyway here's the list of options Silver with flo. yellow panels royal blue with flo. yellow panels Red with new silver panels Yellow with new blue panels Remember the shocks are blue. |

I voted yellow frame, blue panels. I just like the idea of a nice bright yellow frame. It'll pop like crazy. Of course, I think the ultimate would be biohazard orange with silver or black panels, but thats not a choice. |

Why powder coat at all, just buy a rattle can and spray it... that way you can change the color if you want. Powder coating is permanant.

And where are you located???? A person who can powder coat.... Oooooh....... So many things I can think of lol. I agree with others though, rattle can it and use a good clear coat. If you end up going silver cage, use that duplicolor wheel paint and a good clear coat. I did some wheels for my 1:1 and that paint is nice and STRONG. | |

Hmmm. my issue with paint is that it'll take a while to get all the nooks and crannies. Plus the powder coat is only going to cost me some rock rings. Plus, They have to media-blast it so I dont have to clean it.

I like the look of it right now,a silver chassis would keep the metal look of the cage sum-what. I vote for silver and yellow. |

I'm with some of the others.. Paint it. Powder coating would be awesome, until you roll it on the rocks a few times. You know how tubers are. You CAN'T keep good paint on 'em unless you leave it on a shelf. Once the powdercoat is chunked a few times.. repair will be practically impossible, or at least a real bitch. And then when you decide to go back to paint...You've got to get all the powdercoat removed! I keep a gallon of real good reducer in a rubbermade box. When my chassis gets scratched up enough, I pop off the lid, drop the chassis in, close the lid and wait about 10 minutes. Shoot the paint off with the garden hose, dry it off with the air hose. Hang it and re-paint. Just my opinion tho.. and you know about opinions. right? Heavy |

I voted silver wiht yellow panels but what about gettin the frame anodized then it would be in the metal and it couldnt really get scrathed to bad, but it would cost a little more im sure. my cousin does it for paintball guns and it isnt to bad im sure u could get it done for a reasonable price |

No you can't anodize steel to my knowledge. I'm really dreading cleaning it for paint. but it would be easier. maybe I'll paint it. I'll have it media blasted by Wheels or my old work.
