| 1/8 starter box motors?
Anybody out there tried running a 1/8 buggy starter box motor in a crawler? Any benefits or drawbacks come to mind quickly? I found one that has what looks like a 32 pitch pinion pressed on. Somewhere around a 10-tooth maybe. I think that the mounting bolt holes are on a different pattern than standard 540-550 cans, but that is an easy fix. Thanx! Vince |

well some boxes have dual 550's, but guys say the torquier ones are the ones that run a single bog motor. what ESC would you use for it? i believe they run on 12 volts...can you hook up an EVX to just 10 cells? maybe go 6 and 4.

The better startboxes uses 12-14,4v 750 motors...I'd like to try it but I need the starter box intact...

DCLXVI, the motor that I saw is one of those 750 things. I have a Super Rooster ESC and I love it. Looks like the 750 would need to run an EVX with 2 6-cell packs. I'm glad that I asked about that motor! For me, it'd be defeating the purpose. I was wanting to go with 1 torque monster motor to reduce wieght; so going with 1 motor and adding another pack wouldn't make sense for me. Thanx for the input guys, you prevented me from wasting money on a stupid mistake! Vince |

Perhaps the 750 leaves alot of torque running just 7,2v but it would still weight more than an 5x0 motor...
