Default finally...my pti "scawler"

i posted a question a while back that asked if anyone knew of a way to mount revo shocks on a pti.

well i finally found away.

heres what i did. bought the extension kit, used the new rod ends provided and mounted them on the revo shocks, mounted the shocks on the extension kits' shock mounts, used the stock frame rails and mounted the shocks on the end were the cantis used to be, i put the rear revo shocks on the front of the pti and the front revo shocks on the back of the pti all shocks have stock pistons and fluid in them.

i curently have it set up droop style and it works perfectly. i have the bump stops still on shocks and have about 60* of articulation.

i will try to post some pics by the weekend so yall can see the other mods
i have done also.

I had my reservations about the Revo shocks, but they seem to work out pretty good. I might try something similar with buggy shocks. I ran my shocks out at the ends like that, and 4" shocks just seem a bit long. But how is it a droop setup? Looks like a standard sprung setup to me...

Default my pti "scawler"

yea after having driven it around with the droop setup awhile i need more ground clearance so i put the springs back on it.

but that was my only reason for doing so. oh and i didnt have springs on the inside just shock oil so everytime i was off camber too long it fell side ways, but didnt fall over. and thats it

let me know how it works with buggy shocks!

also what do u think of the skid plates?

I forgot to mention that. Good job on those. Smart thinking extending them out to cover the input shaft. I especially like center skid though. Something you might wanna try is mounting your lower links on the suspension mounts to triangulate the lowers a bit more. It may help the suspension cycle. However, those suspension mounts may not handle the added stress or it may screw up your pinion angle. But it might be worth a shot.

yeah i tried that the other day the revo links are too long and made the pinion point way down so far infact that i coundt even think about trying to drive it. and at full steering lock the tires hit the links.

well idid some more work on it i added a bumper to the front for right now until i can make a grill for it. i also ordered some softer springs for it so i can get full articulation. also i took off the stock shock rod ends and put some extra ones i had back on there so it'll clear the shock mounts!

also im working on making a winch for it got the servo done.......but i saw on the tlt section where some guy made some bada$$ winch and said hes gonna make them but he has no price yet or eta so im gonna wait and see how much before i dive in to making one myself!
