Default Revo dig driveshaft mods?

I'm building an x-factor axled super with a maxx tranny. I'm hoping to have enough channels to try front and rear dig. With the power and weight, I have to run revo shafts. I plan to go the "socket to ya" style dig. My main question is can you modufy the splines of a revo shaft so that it will slide together at any angle and not only when the yokes are lined up? The 2 halves will go together at other intervals but its very tight and I'm afraid it will slide together in those places and get jammed. Was just hoping someone else had sanded down splines in the right places to allow it to slide together an any interval. Thanks for any replies.

Thanks Kamikaze. So just to make absolutely clear, they sometimes slide together offset from the normal 180* and 48oz servo will "unstick" them? I have read your thread on this, my inspiration actually, but must have missed where you posted the above that I quoted.

I use Jato splined shafts similar to Revos but smaller for dig.

Simply shave down the high splines on the male end to make it engage at all degrees of rotation without getting stuck. I used a razor blade. It did take some time and trial.

Before doing this, my setup wouldn't disengage 2wd mode in a bind very fast. Now its smooth and fast. If it breaks I make another

A 48 oz in servo will unstick it when its on a bench, a 200+ oz in servo will work realiably. The thing to remember is you only need about 3/16" of engagement to get it to work with revos, you ain't gonna break them.

Good point Kamikaze

The revos are tougher and dont need as deep of an engagement as my jatos do when the ol torque is unleashed

Great, I guess I was just looking for reassurance. I will probably get a couple chickenbutts(towerpro) since they're about as cheap as standard servos these days.
