Default Panel Materials

I'm planning to put body panels on my rig. What do you suggest I use for panels? I'd love to use stainless or carbon fiber but that's so expensive. Any idea how to paint aluminum to look like CF? I can get plenty of aluminum. Let me know.
Thanks in advance,

You could use lexan.

Paint it from the inside using toolbox liner as a mask for a carbon fiber-ish look.

Use black/silver if you're using cans.

You could always get parma carbon fiber decal sheets. They're big, maybe 8.5x11", and lay then over your panels. This looks very real, except you can't see the 3d of the carbon weave. I got a sheet from tower a year ago or so.

Thanks guys. My father works at a glass shop so lexan or aluminum is no problem. Had a brain fart today and thought of using some .060 aluminum and do that swirl effect or jeweled effect on it.

Ive seen the non slip tool box liner stuff work good for the carbon fiber effect. Some losers think it will make there beat wana be race cars faster if they paint that on and put japanese letters on it.

Ain't that the truth I'll have to do a test panel and see what happens.
