Angry local shops suck.

Any one here on RCC willing to help out? i need my gd-6 turned down to accept the proper size pinion. All the local shops want a arm and other body parts to do anything and Im not able or willing to come up with the cash they want per hr to do the lathe work.
If there si any one willing to help please lmk.

get me the shaft and I can do it at my buddies. I'll be going over there next week. Where are you at?

I can also do that too. The machinists at my F/T job let me use their small lathe.

No lathe is needed. Just hook up the motor and run it while using a file pressed against the shaft. Works perfectly, just be careful and check every few seconds so you dont go to small. It does not take long at all to do.

It is 3/16", you can either turn down the shaft or drill out the pinion. The case also needs a little modification too. The front bearing housing is too thick, I turned that down a little too to make it work in my twin force.

Just bore out your pinion gear, it will keep the drivetrain stronger that way!!

I just ended up drilling out an 18 tooth pinion. It works great...
